Day 2331

Tuesday February 20th 2024

Dear Journal:

Ah we are not working today, we are not filing in to help out for the lack of volunteers, nope we’re not doing nothin today, other than stuff we want to do. So you might wonder what we want to do today and to no ones surprise Miss Laurie has announced that at nine o’clock she is heading to the the creek bed to look for some new. And I’m quietly thinking that I need to get into the Arboretum for a look about, as I haven’t done a walk about for a couple of weeks which seems so crazy, but the rain and cold weather had just seemed inviting enough.

Now can someone explain to me why when I don’t have to get up to go to work that I’m awake before 6:00? Especially after sleeping in a couple of days on the weekend when we had to get up to volunteer. I guess it will just remain one of the mysteries of the universe, but for now we will just catch up on some local and national news, of course there will be some perked coffee that has been blessed by some Irish cream.

These photos were taken by Miss Laurie as she ventured toward Queen Creek to do some rock hounding, this has become a regular trek, and as much as it mat look like a road she is following it is actually “fire break” that was cut by a bulldozer a few years ago. It is designed to give fire fighters access as well as providing an unburnable strip, but it makes for good walking for both humans and javelins as Miss Laurie has encountered them a number of times on her way to the creek bed. Today there was still some water in Queen Creek, restricting some of her best rock hounding spots, but at least the views make up for some of the disappointment.

I on the other hand did not make it to the garden for a walk today, I did accomplish a few things around the coach, and enjoyed the patio time with a good book.
