Day 2282

Tuesday January 2nd 2024

Dear Journal:

Today we ventured into the Arboretum to get another look at the coati which are still feeding in the Arboretum’s canyon, we have mixed feelings on the wildlife being in the garden as many new people are flocking to the garden to see the coati, but they are doing so much damage to the garden that it may be time for them to move on. The first photo was an adult while the second shows a couple of the baby coati.

After a few photos we move on to quieter areas of the garden, one of the most amazing things about the Arboretum here in Arizona is that no matter what time of year you are here you can always find something in bloom. Aloe in bloom and the fruit of the prickly pear which are used for a number of purposes.

And after our venture in the Arboretum Miss Laurie headed off to the creek bed to do a little rock hounding but she got a couple of photos as she headed off on her adventure as well. Views of the Arizona desert at 2400 feet, and the moon over a huge saguaro cactus.

A busy day for us in the second day of the new year, have I mentioned lately just how much we love our life and the adventures that are almost becoming common to us. It is the time that I take to put these blogs together that makes me stop and admire what we are enjoying and how lucky we truly are.
